Thringstone looking tidier than ever!

Friends of Thringstone have had a busy month, but not necessarily one they want to repeat!

During September members picked 170 bags of litter from around the village, the most since April.

In total volunteers from the group have collected 1,395 bags so far in 2014.

County Councillor Leon Spence said 'We are so lucky in Thringstone to have dedicated volunteers who continually strive to make our community a better place to live.

'The actions of a few thoughtless individuals could quite easily turn Thringstone into an eyesore. We owe a debt of thanks to those people who quietly but consistently make a real difference.'
