10th July 2014 Public sector strike - Local impact

A number of trade unions, including NUT, Unison, GMB and UNITE, have announced a strike on Thursday 10th July 2014.

This page will be updated with detail of how the strikes will affect services accessed by most Whitwick and Thringstone residents.

Schools

Whitwick St John the Baptist: School will be open as normal but kitchen will be closed, please send children with a packed lunch.

Whitwick Holy Cross: School will be open to Years 1, 4 and 5. School will be closed to Years 4+, 2, 3 and 6. Pupils attending must bring a packed lunch.

New Swannington Primary School: Closed

Castle Rock High School: Open as normal.

De Lisle School, Loughborough: Open as normal.

The above schools have provided notification to parents of their plans on Thursday. It is, of course, possible that circumstances may change which will affect their status.

Other Services

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue: A reduced service will be available from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Leicestershire County Council - Coalville Community Resource Centre: Closed
