Air Cadets join up with Friends of Thringstone for community litterpick

Members of community group Friends of Thringstone joined up last Saturday (14 June) with young people from 1188 (Coalville) Squadron of the Air Training Corps to spruce up the village by carrying out a community litter pick.

The litter pick has become a regular event over the years for the ATC, who are one of a number of young peoples organisations who have shown a commitment to improving the environment for the benefit of local residents.

Local Councillor Leon Spence joined the cadets on the litter pick, he said 'I never fail to be amazed at the hard work our young people put in to making our villages better places to live.

'All too often we hear about children being responsible for anti-social behaviour. We hear all too rarely about the significant good that they do.

'Thanks must go out to the ATC, and not forgetting Friends of Thringstone, for the commitment they show to the community.'
