Keeping Thringstone Tidy - Scouts and Friends of Thringstone team up

Whitwick Scouts yesterday (Saturday 8th March) teamed up with the Friends of Thringstone to litter pick around the village.

15 scouts spent the morning working alongside 7 village residents to collect discarded televisions, old tents and many sacks of litter.

County Councillor Leon Spence said 'We owe a huge thank you to all of those people who turn out, sometimes day after day, to make our village a better place to live. Both the Scouts and Friends of Thringstone have done an amazing job.

'It's such a shame that we need community spirited residents to litter pick but whilst there are thoughtless people willing to inconsiderately throw away rubbish I would encourage everyone to do their bit to improve our villages.'
