What are the problems on our roads?

Throughout the election campaign the issue which came up again and again was the state of our roads.

Whether it's potholes, needless traffic calming, inadequate lighting or speeding cars you let me know things aren't working.

Now I am elected I want to go to County Hall to argue for better road conditions in Whitwick and Thringstone.

But I need your help.

Please leave a comment here to let me know where and what the issues are and I will make sure they are looked at.

  1. We put up useless speed humps on church lane where there was never a speeding issue yet the quarry end of whitwick is 40-50mph with nothing! Needs traffic calming near st. Bernards rd and vinces shop

    1. I have a neighbour who has 2 cars and one is always on the pavement , totally blocking it so pedestrians have to walk in the middle of the road !
Being directly on a T junction on Briers Way this is an accident waiting to happen either by a car collision or a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.
Some folk realy have no regard for other people.

  5. I've written to you before about the lack of gritting on Main Street, Thringstone. You replied and said it was a county issue, maybe now you could look into it?

  6. Why is the grass in thringstone over a foot long ????? And it's covered in dog muck who's dog owners seem to think its hidden in the long grass. NWLDC sort it out. We pay our taxes yes our kids cannot play on the grass.
Bad enough the village street lights being turned off but enough is enough.

    GET THE GRASS MOWED please

    1. Thanks for your comment.

The grass verges around Thringstone and Whitwick ARE a mess. This is something I have been chasing up with the County Council.

Hopefully I will have more to report later today.

  7. Cars speed constantly up and down Leicester Road and nothing is done, yet on Church Lane, where the amount of parked cars make it impossible to speed anyway, they put speed bumps.

    1. Thanks for your comment. I totally agree!

You'll be pleased to know that I have already asked for a meeting with officers to talk about what can be done about these important issues.
